OUR HEART IS TO CARE FOR BOTH PHYSICAL & SPIRITUAL NEEDS
Mercy Ministries, established in 2012, is focused primarily on serving the older generations of Toch Village, through feeding and medical programs. Our primary target group is elderly who do not have access to proper nutrition and medical care. Our heart is to meet the physical needs of the elderly, much as Jesus met the tangible needs of the people he served. Village of Hope Ministries provides meals, essential medications, and money for basic necessities. This program occurs three times a year— in January, June, and December.
In a village that is heavily Buddhist, and, culturally, very honoring and service oriented especially towards elders; Vuthy saw an opportunity to show Christ, and begin bridging a gap between religion and culture. Our desire is to reflect our commitment as image-bearers of Jesus. Mercy Ministries hopes to show that we strive to love our neighbors through service, just as Jesus came to serve and not be served (Matthew 20:28). With honor being of such high importance in the community, Vuthy sought to establish a God-honoring ministry that would display who we give the most highest honor. Mercy Ministries does this by caring physically for the most vulnerable in our community, ultimately leading to opportunities to meet spiritual needs.
